New Banner of forgiveness

As you can see we have a new banner - thanks Dan. This is a picture of one of our local beaches - City Beach. Daniel and I are usually there from 6.30am every week day morning for a run and swim, such a great way to start the day.

I spent the afternoon with Andrew at his local cafe in Brighton - a new housing development 45 minutes north of Perth - chatting about Church planting and sharing stories from the last 6 months, great time and very encouraging and freeing, thanks Andrew. He is also the local rep for FORGE - "To help birth and nurture the missional church in Australia and New Zealand". This week I will be spending 4 intense days enjoying the company of some great people.

Been thinking a lot about ‘forgiveness’ this week with the things that have been going on for us ... and to all those out there whom I need to forgive - "you are forgiven". I would also like to ask your forgiveness too, I know I have no control over what you do with my request, but I want to ask anyway. That doesn't mean that anyting is going to change within our relationship or how we interact in the future - as water cannot go back under the bridge - but I know for my sake I needed to do that - now may God's Grace abound in all our lives... Cya

IPF - prayer breakfast

yesterday spent the morning with a buch of Pastors from local churches at the International Prayer Fellowship. And it was truly international; Americans, Canadians, Germans, Russians, Belarusians, Nigerians and one Australian (me). We heard from Axel Nehelsen from 'Gemeinsam Fur Berlin' (Together/united for Berlin). Spent the rest of the day wandering the city checking out different areas for possible habitation? The days here are really short from about 8 am to 3.30 pm so most of our wanderings are in the dark, but you get to see a different world at night (nice Photo Daniel). Cya.

GCM in Berlin

We met today with Gene and Kathy from Rock Berlin and they are part of a Church plant from Great Commision Ministries. We had a great chat and spoke about their recent times and ours as well. They are very busy working with the students in and around their area and hope to continue with their outreach into the area. We hope to hook up with others tomorrow in Berlin.
Chelsea seems to be under the hammer at the moment. We went to the local shops this afternoon to get some groceries for tonight and tomorrow. I went to get the car and while Sarah and Chel were waiting out the front of the shop this ‘bloke’ approached them and made some lewd comments about Chelsea just as I pulled up. By the time I got out of the car he was gone, not just down the road a little but GONE!!! I am sick of this happening to my little girl. Just the other day an old fart got on the train and even though the train was empty he sat next to her. Mark my works the next ‘bastard’ who does anything will not see the next day outside of an emergency ward!!
The really sad thing is that Chelsea is trying to make rhyme or reason out of it, and thinks that perhaps Jesus is trying to warn her not to trust men! Isn’t that sad? We told her that Jesus doesn’t work that way, he doesn’t use dirty old men to talk to her. More likely it is satan finding where we are most vulnerable and attacking it. Kevin Davies reminded us that the tribes of Israel helped each other to conquer their share in the promised land (they were not allowed to just go for their own share or compromise their calling). Likewise the emerging tribes in Europe should unite and conquer the land together.

Emerging church...

Had a great conversations with my good friend Artie about - discipleship and the emerging culture. Do you know what conclusions we came to? Not many, both of us come from Institutional backgrounds and we are struggling to put some system to 'discipleship/counseling'. But maybe, there is no structure? It's just about relationship, food and every now and then God turns up and turns our worlds upside down - all the other times in our lives He lets us to the disrupting. Cya.
